Youth Expressive Arts & Theatre

All students in The Yellowknife Catholic School District will have Thursday afternoons off next year.

Our YEAT Program is just for you!


 

Semester 1 (August 25 - January 26) Thursdays 12:15 - 5:15 ~ Ages 7-10

Semester 2 (February 2 - June 15) Thursdays 12:15 - 5:15 ~ Ages 7-10
 

Program Description

Youth Expressive Arts & Theatre (YEAT) is a weekly program that offers in-depth learning of performance and theatre arts. The YEAT program focuses on teaching students performance skills, but also how to turn their skills into original work. At the end of the program, students will stage a short performance - completely created by them!
 

 

Objectives

  • Increasing the students' ability to understand and talk about performing arts, both culturally and in their own lives.

  • Teaching students about all aspects of creating a show, from behind the scenes to onstage.

  • Creating more confident performers & artists!

  • Acting & Improv

  • Short-form scene writing

  • Discussing and describing art

  • Using performance for self-expression

  • Stagecraft

Tuition

YEAT monthly tuition is based on the total number of classes in each semester. Each semester is equivalent to 5 months.​

Semester 1 (August 25 - January 26) - $210 / month (21 weeks)

Semester 2 (February 2 - June 15) - $180 / month (18 weeks)

A membership fee ($40) will apply to all students who are not enrolled in other Bella classes.
