Benji Mujuni

Benjamin is a multidisciplinary artist and dancer from Kampala, Uganda. Self-trained in Hip Hop, Krump, and Breaking, he began dancing at the age of fifteen. In 2017, he joined B.O.S.S. (Built On Self Success) Dance Team, a collective grounded in Hip Hop culture, and has since performed in numerous showcases and events across Canada.

 

As a member of B.O.S.S., Benjamin has represented both the dance team and Winnipeg at events including Downtown Moves Winnipeg, B.Y.O.B. (Bring Your Own Beat) in Toronto, and One for the City in Edmonton. His practice is rooted in street dance culture, emphasizing movement as a means of expression, connection, and storytelling.

 

Alongside his work as a dancer, Benjamin holds a degree in Environmental Design and works as a Junior Architectural Designer with Housing NWT. His multidisciplinary background in architecture, visual art, and dance informs the way he approaches movement, space, and the human body.

 

Benjamin joined Bella Dance Academy during its 20th season in 2023 as a Hip Hop instructor. He brings four years of teaching experience, including his work with Graffiti Art Programming (GAP), a non-profit organization that provides arts-based after-school programming for youth. Through his teaching, Benjamin strives to create an environment that encourages creativity, confidence, discipline, and self-expression while embodying Bella Dance Academy’s mission to “enrich lives through the arts.”
